Pour des raisons sanitaires et de bonne conservation, nous limitons le nombre de personnes qui nous rejoignent sur le terrain, en Afrique.
Nous savons combien vous aimez ces chimpanzés, cette faune sauvage, ces forêts … Mais nous sommes au regret de ne pouvoir accepter beaucoup de monde sur le terrain.
Nous nous permettons de rappeler que les conditions sur place sont souvent difficiles. Comme vous, notre priorité reste le bien-être de ces animaux, de ces forêts, des populations locales avec qui nous travaillons ! Les consignes sanitaires sont importantes afin de ne pas transmettre de maladie, etc.
Chaque pays, chaque projet, a ses spécificités.C’est pourquoi le Jane Goodall Institute a élaboré ce document qui vous explique, pays par pays, si vous pouvez postuler et dans quelles conditions.

Senegal
Location: The Jane Goodall Institute in Senegal, Dindéfélo
Length of Stay: 6-12 months minimum
Requirements: High level of spoken French, related university degree, good physical condition, positive attitude, commitment, flexibility, adaptation to a different culture, and resilience to basic living conditions and heat.
For the research department, prior experience in data collection and/or a degree in biology, primatology, zoology, or related field.
For the agroforestry department: knowledge/experience in related fields
Accommodation: Basic accommodation and main meals are provided in a rural village setting, living with local families, and using the JGI Biological station at Dindefelo for work (equipped with solar pannels, filtered water, etc.).
Budgetary Information: volunteers must cover all travel and insurance costs, plus personal expenses.

South Africa, Chimp Eden
Location: Jane Goodall Institute South Africa, Chimpanzee Sanctuary “Chimp Eden”, Nelspruit.
Length of Stay: Volunteers are preferred to stay from 3-13 nights in Chimp Eden from outside of Nelspruit area. Option 1: 3-6 nights, option 2: 7-13 nights
Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years or over
Accommodation: Cabin style accommodation, 2 beds per cabin for maximum of 2 people.
Budgetary Information: Volunteers must cover all own costs.
- Option 1: 3-6 nights, R 1850 per night (students: R 1450 per night)
- Option 2: 7-13 nights, R 1750 per night (students: R 1350 per night)
The cost includes all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and some refreshments.

Tanzania, Dar Es Salaam
Location: Dar Es Salaam, Arusha or Zanzibar.
Length of Stay: Minimum of 6 months.
Requirements: 21 years old or over with a university degree or minimum of 4 years work experience. Prior knowledge of Kiswahili preferable (Kiswahili lessons provided during stay).
Accommodation: Accommodation at host family included.
Budgetary Information: The total fee for this position is $7,000 USD (for 6 months).
A 30% non-refundable deposit will be due six weeks prior to departure with the remaining 70% of the program fee will be due two weeks prior to departure.

Tanzania, Eco-House
Location: Eco-House of Sanganigwa Children’s House, Tanzania, Kigoma
Length of Stay: no minimum stay
Requirements: none, in particular
Accommodation: included. The Volunteer’s Eco-House hosts rooms with 2-4 beds. All rooms are equipped with a simple private bathroom. The accommodation includes a hearty breakfast and on request, meals and lunches. Wireless internet connection is supplied in all the House. Further services are transfer to and from the Kigoma airport and providing information for excursions.
Budgetary Information: The Volunteer Eco-House asks a donation of minimum 20 US $ per person (for long stay an high discount will provide) for overnight stay and breakfast that will contribute to the maintenance of children homes.

Uganda
Location: Based in the Budongo and Bugoma central forest reserves, with three days at head office per
month.
Length of Stay: Minimum of 6 months.
Requirements: 21 years old or over with a university degree or minimum of 4 years work experience. Prior knowledge of Kiswahili preferable.
Accommodation: Accommodation included, both in the field and at head office.
